ABOUT HALL COUNTY

Hall County is located only an hour from downtown Atlanta, on the beautiful shores of Lake Sidney Lanier and at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The moderate climate and Southern hospitality make Hall County a wonderful community in which to live, work, or simply enjoy the many pleasures of life.With Hall County leading the way, Georgia has been one of the top poultry producing states in the nation since 1957. The industry generates over $720 million in products and services annually. With the growth in the poultry industry has come the growth of our Hispanic Community.The 2000 census put the number of Hispanics in Hall County at 27,242, 20% of the total population. Most people who work within the community believe there was a large undercount. These Hispanics bring more than $5,000,000 in pay each week to the marketplace. They carry very little debt and spend the bulk of their money locally. They pay in cash and on time. The census revealed 1,829 Hispanic households in Hall County with more than a third of them occupying their own homes.The majority of the Hispanics (92% or higher) are directly from Mexico or of Mexican descent. While many have had little opportunity for education, most read and write in English or Spanish or a combination of both. A surprising number hold high school diplomas and/or more advanced education or degrees. We have a service orientation to the Hispanic community in which the personnel of MEXICO LINDO attempt to participate in and with the working people of the community and their families.
